I could probably think of a dozen adjectives to describe this one of a kind wedding.  From the first moment I met Julissa, I knew her wedding would be amazing.  The very first thing she told me was that her wedding was called "Havana Nights meets Casablanca".  From that moment on, I knew that everything about this Nashville wedding would be memorable.  She didn't want a typical southern wedding with soft colors. She wanted vibrant and lively and full of personality, just like the bride herself.

Julissa and her mom told me they had enormous goals.  They planned to sew 2 dresses for the bride, 7 bridesmaid dresses and of course a flowergirl dress. I was honestly speechless.  They wanted to focus on this personal and important crafting project while I managed all the rest of the wedding details.  The end result was a distinctive wedding that fulfilled the bride's vision.

The bride's peach raw silk dress was one of a kind.  Look at that train (it's detachable)!

Each bridesmaid had a different style of dress and a different hair accessory.

Instead of a traditional guest book, guests signed postcards which the "mailed" to the bride and groom.

Doubling as both favors and escort cards, handmade truffles of either chocolate and green tea or dark chocolate and lavender were placed for guests.  

To incorporate her unique theme, the food was a custom Caribbean menu.  Vivid colors in the linens and flowers also carried this theme.  Multiple chandeliers were placed around Houston Station to add the elegant feel the bride envisioned.  We used a mix of both round and square tables with chiavari chairs to continue the elegant but fun feel. 

After dinner, the bride changed into her second dress of the evening.  A short, fun silhouette in the same peach color.  

Instead of the traditional top 20 songs for dance music, all the dance music was from before 1980.   This unusual request kept the dance floor filled with everyone from young to old. 

Working with this couple was truly a joy.  They had a wonderful vision, had amazing personality and weren't afraid to express it through their wedding.

Casey and Steve knew they wanted a simple wedding for 200 of their close friend and family.

But the best part of their story is how they met:

They were each in the Peace Corps on a trip to Africa.  After a few false starts, they finally connected and started talking.  They discovered that they lived only a few hours apart; one in Tennessee, the other in Alabama.  But they had to travel halfway around the world to find each other.

This elegant fall wedding took place at Houston Station.  The bride was stunning in her dress.

Beautiful with vibrant purple flowers, curly willow, honeysuckle vine and river rocks.

The brides wild and garden inspired bouquet.

Two cupcake towers created a brides and groom dessert station. 

These tasty sweets were the favors for guests. 

Instead of sparklers, bubbles or a traditional exit, the couple gave their guests kazoos.  There were a lot of laughs as guests to to remember how to use them.

Sarah and Ricky wanted a beautiful wedding for their out of town guests as well as an amazing and fun reception.  

The couple decided to skip the first look and wait until the bride was walking down the aisle.  The adorable ring bearer announced the brides arrival.

The white and gray color scheme kept things simple and elegant.  The soft baby’s breath along with the draping and lighting, created a beautiful romantic feel.  

Nooks were created in the corner of the rooms using pews and coffee tables.

Guests were treated to dinner from a food truck and a “midnight” snack.

Instead of the traditional wedding cake, there were 5 separate cakes each with a unique flavor.

After a great party with lots of dancing and celebrating, the bridal party and couple left on a trolley after the wedding was over.

Heather and Ben were married in a gorgeous ceremony at Hermitage Hotel.  Although she was traveling for a lot of the time during planning, Heather and her mom created many DIY elements for her wedding.

The red, white and black color scheme added a very elegant feel to the day.

Each guest was given a small box of flower petals to throw as the couple left the ceremony. 

This elaborate and ornate cake matched many of the details on the brides dress.

A candy bar was one of the many details the bride provided for her guests. 

The color scheme added an elegant feel to the reception.  Red roses were the centerpieces throughout with red napkin rings, black napkins and an assortment of crystal candle holders.

Kari and Blake were married in Franklin, TN   Kari wanted a 1940 vintage inspired wedding with lots of fun details.

The bride wore a beautiful dress with a birdcage veil and fabulous red shoes.

Centerpieces were vases of apples, lanterns and gourds with candy apple favors for every guest. The head table was large white lanterns and beautiful vintage plates. The rich brown and green color scheme complemented this fall wedding.

During the cocktail hour, guests were served apple cider and caramel popcorn.

 In addition to the amazing bride's cake there was strawberry shortcake for a groom's cake.  Later in the evening there were also cookies and plain and chocolate milk served in vintage glass milk bottles.     

The couple made their getaway from the church in a vintage 1941 GMC truck.  

This couple had so much fun their entire day.

I had the privilege of working on a beautiful summer wedding at Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN. Alix was a stunning bride.  With such a beautiful setting, the entire event was gorgeous.  The weather was beautiful for a ceremony by the gardens.

I recently worked on a beautiful wedding for Clover and Emerson. Clover wanted a classic black and white color scheme with green accents. She kept the green to a minimum using it in a few flower shades and the reception decor with Granny Smith apples.  The result was a beautiful, fresh wedding.

The day started at the church.  I will let these stunning photos speak for themselves.

After the ceremony, everyone headed to the hotel.  This Hatch print was both the guest book and given out as a favor. 

These tall centerpieces all were slightly different and includes apples with a variety of white flowers.
